Solar Thermal
Solar thermal refers to the process of using the sun’s energy as a source of heat. We can heat spaces (homes and offices, for example) by either warming the air of a space directly, or by warming a fluid or a solid mass as a means of storing the heat so that the release of the heat can be controlled, perhaps even for a prolonged period of time – anywhere from hours after the sun has set to whole seasons.
One of the most cost effective applications is to produce domestic or commercial hot water. We can even use a concentration of the sun’s heat energy to produce a steam to drive turbines that produce electric power. The main component in a system designed to utilize the sun’s energy as heat, is called a solar collector and, from a distance, it might be mistaken for a solar PV module by an untrained eye.
Contact our thermal solution experts and tell us what you want to do, and we will analyze your situation and develop a design that fits your needs.
